한지공예와 미디어아트와의 만남
Collaboration of Hanji craft x media art
종이의 환영 전시는 한지공예의 새로움을 모색하고 미디어아트와의 융합전시를 시도함으로써 현대미술 안에서의 한지예술을 한 단계 격상시키려 했다. 또한 그간 원주한지문화제가 끊임없이 추구했던 한지의 혁신, 전문성, 그리고 그것이 다시 일상성으로 자리매김하여 시민에게 위로와 즐거움을 주려는 비전의 연장선에 있다고 볼 수 있다.
Paper Ghost exhibition aimed to promote Hanji art to another level within modern art by seeking novelty and attempting combined media art presentation. This can also be seen as an extension of the Wonju hanji culture festival’s vision of providing joy and comfort to the citizens by positioning Hanji’s innovation and professionalism into daily life.

동아시아의 미술사를 바탕으로 우리나라 전통 한지 예술과 첨단 테크놀로지 기술을 독창적으로 접목한 미디어 아트작품 김혜경 작가와 한지공예작가 4명(김정순, 김원자, 문연희, 김은희)의 협업을 선보일 예정이다.
Based on East Asia’s artists, the media artwork author Hye-Gyung Kim who originally grafted our nation’s traditional hanji art and state-of-art technology and four hanji craft authors (Jung-Soon Kim, Weon-Ja Kim, Yeon-Hi Moon, Eun-Hee Kim) are expected to reveal collaboration.

김혜경 작가는 우리의 아름다운 전통이 지닌 현대적 요소를 탐구하고, 이를 디지털 기술과 융합하며 새로운 미디어 예술로 재창조하고 있다. 도자기, 고가구 등 전통 공예품에 프로젝션 매핑 기법을 활용해 빛과 사운드, 움직임을 가미한 인터렉티브 미디어 아트 전시 기술을 사용하며 관람객들과 과거 및 현재의 공간과 시간을 초월하는 예술적 소통을 시도한다.
Hye-Gyung Kim investigates modern aspects that our tradition consists of and recreates this into new media art by combining with digital technology. Artistic communication transcending past and current space and time is attempted with the viewers through an interactive media art exhibition that contains light, sound, and movement utilizing projection mapping techniques on traditional craftworks such as ceramics and antiques.

전시 작품으로는 (사)한지개발원의 한지로 만든 갑옷, 지호작가 김원자 명인의 달항아리, 문연희 작가의 지승 달항아리, 김은희 작가의 색지 반닫이, 2층장 세트가 전시된다.
Armour created using Hanji Development Institute’s Hanji, Weon-Ja Kim, the Jeeho author master’s moon Jar, Yeon-Hi Moon’s Geeseung moon Jar, Eun-Hee Kim’s coloured paper cabinet, 2floor cabinet set will be included in the exhibition.
